Lifts Were Turned Off to Make 82-Year-Old Yunus Climb Stairs of Dhaka’s Labor Court

In 2023, it was reported that the lifts at Dhaka’s Labor Court were deliberately turned off to force Nobel laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus, aged 82, to climb the stairs. This action was seen as a strategic move amidst his ongoing legal challenges. Now, in 2024, Dr. Yunus has assumed a significant role as the head of the interim government in Bangladesh.
