Army Vehicle Attacked and Set on Fire in Gopalganj, 15 Injured

An army vehicle was vandalized and set on fire by local Awami League activists in Gopalganj, resulting in at least 15 people including journalists and 4 army personnel injured. Two people were reportedly shot during the incident which occurred at Gopinathpur bus stand of Gopalganj Sadar Upazila on August 10. The local activists had gathered to demand for former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's return and blocked Dhaka-Khulna highway. When army personnel tried to remove the protestors, they were attacked with bricks leading to a violent confrontation.
