Conflicting statements have been made regarding the resignation of former Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina. Her son and adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy told Reuters that she had not officially resigned due to a lack of time, while she herself told Economic Times that she did so to prevent further loss of lives and resources. The confusion over her resignation comes after the fall of the Awami League government following the Anti-discrimination Student Movement.
