Three-Day Public Holiday for Durga Puja Recommended

Brigadier General (Retd.) M Sakhawat Hossain, advisor to the Home Ministry of the Interim Government, recommends a three-day public holiday during Durga Puja. He stated that there should be no problem in granting a few days off for this festival and it is their duty to protect all citizens, regardless of their religion. The Interim Government was formed with 17 people under the leadership of Muhammad Yunus after former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned amidst nationwide student protests.
