Homicide Case Filed Against Sheikh Hasina & 7 Others

A concerned citizen, Ehsan Hamid Shatil, has filed a homicide case against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and seven other prominent figures. The case, which will be heard in the Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Dhaka, also includes former State Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former Home Minister Advocate Sahara Khatun, former DhIB President Harunur Rashid, former DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman, and others. This comes after Sheikh Hasina stepped down as Prime Minister on August 5, making it the first case filed against her since then. The complaint alleges that recent student protests have been met with unprovoked police firing, resulting in multiple injuries and fatalities among the protesting students. Shaital has filed this case in pursuit of justice for these acts of violence.
