Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, took responsibility for Sumaiya's child, who lost her mother in a shooting incident in Siddhirganj. Rahman met the family, offering condolences and vowing to seek justice for Sumaiya and other victims. The incident occurred when police opened fire on anti-discrimination activists, resulting in Sumaiya's death and leaving others injured. Jamaat-e-Islami leaders, including Saiful Alam Khan Milon, Nurul Islam Bulbul, Abdul Jabbar, and Mominul Haque, were present at the meeting. The gathering prayed for the deceased and emphasized the importance of accountability for the perpetrators.
