A lawyer, Minarul Islam Minar, has filed a case against Noakhali's Sudharam Police Station OC Mir Jahedul Haque Roni and seven policemen for brutally beating him and demanding a bribe. The accused police officials detained Minarul Islam Minar while he visited the police station to see his uncle. After not receiving the demanded money, they falsely charged him in an explosives act case. The OC claimed that the incident was fabricated, but the court has ordered an inquiry, with the report due by September 15.
