Justice Manik did not pay the house rent of Tk 14 lakh

Retired Supreme Court Justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik has yet to pay over 14 lakh taka for house rent and utilities, after staying over a year in a government house in Gulshan, Dhaka. Despite owing the government, Manik disputed the claim, asserting a rent-free year for judges post-retirement – a rule the Housing Department denies. Manik disconnected the call when questioned.
