Did you know? Bangabandhu sculpture at Bijoy Sarani cost 400 crore BDT, the same year where Parul Chakma came to sell her son to fight poverty

400 crore taka was spent in one year to build the statue of Bangabandhu at Bijoy Sarani. 

And in that same year, driven by poverty, a mother named Parul Chakma came to the market to sell her child, Krishna Chakma, for 12,000 taka.
