626, including politicians, judges, police members, took shelter in cantonments: ISPR

At least 615 individuals have willingly left the cantonment areas this morning (18 August), according to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release.

The release said 626 individuals, including several political figures and members of law enforcers, sought refuge at cantonments on 5 August, fearing for their lives. 

"In this context, to prevent extrajudicial activities, protect lives, and uphold the rule of law, 24 political figures, five judges, 19 civil administration officials, 28 police officers, 487 members of the police at various levels, officials from various public universities, and a group of 12 individuals along with 51 family members [spouses and children] totalling 626 individuals were provided shelter at various cantonment areas," the release said.
