Upholding human dignity in flood aid efforts

The Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief so far has distributed Tk4.52 crore as cash among the flood stricken people in 11 flood affected districts, according to a latest report provided by the ministry on Friday. Under the relief distribution program, Tk82 lakh has been distributed in Feni, each Tk75 lakh in Comilla and Noakhali, Tk45 lakh in Sylhet, each Tk35 lakh in Chittagong and Habiganj, Tk30 lakh in MoulviBazar and Lakhipur each, Tk20 lakh in Cox's Bazar, Tk15 lakh in Brahmanbaria and Tk10 lakh for Khagrachari district. In addition, 20,650 tons of rice, 15,000 packets of dry food, baby food worth Tk35 lakh, and cattle feed equivalent to Tk35 lakh have also been distributed in the flood-affected districts. Disaster Management and Relief Adviser Farooq-e Azam has already visited the flood-affected areas and the relief distribution program in the Noakhali, Lakhipur, Chittagong, and Feni districts.
