During the students' movement, the frozen body of a young man who had been shot was dragged down from the armored police vehicle. The body is pulled away as the car falls under the wheels when towing. Even then the body is seen moving. Such a shocking video has become viral in the net world. A case was finally filed in Savar police station in that incident. The name of the deceased is Ashabul Yamin. Eyewitnesses said that this student of the capital's Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) was still alive after being shot at Savar on July 18 at noon. The police practice 'lying' him on top of an armored vehicle while he is shot. In the touching video, he was thrown from an armored vehicle onto the road by a plainclothes policeman while injured. Yamin is still breathing heavily. One of his legs was stuck to the wheel of the armored vehicle. Disturbed by this, the policeman got down from the car and dragged the injured Yamin on the steep road. The young man's body was still moving. But instead of taking him to the hospital, the police threw him like a sack on the service lane of the road over a divider about four feet high. The policemen were still firing on the protesters. The scene of Yameen being killed in the most brutal way in the video went viral all over the world. But still there was no case. After the fall of Sheikh Hasina, Yamin's uncle Abdullah Al Munqadir Rokon filed a case in the Dhaka court on August 25 accusing him and the policemen who were on duty in Savar at that time. The court ordered the Savar police station to take the statement. After 8 days the police registered the case. Yameen's family said local policemen came to the house and 'requested' them to be removed from the accused list. They requested local Awami League leaders and activists including Sheikh Hasina to be accused. Yamin's father said about this. Mohiuddin said, 'Some policemen came to my house last week. They say they want to cooperate. He said how to declare. They wanted to draft a manifesto. It was seen that all the (accused) political leaders' names. The police have no name.' Rokon, the plaintiff in the case, said, 'We did not like the draft given by the police. Because, they omitted the name of their officer from the draft statement.' On July 18, around 11:00 AM, students from various educational institutions including Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar blocked the Dhaka-Aricha highway and started a protest. Later, the protesters were dispersed by police firing tear shells and rubber bullets. Eyewitnesses said that hundreds of activists of Awami League and its affiliates stood with the police and BGB wearing helmets with weapons. Some had pistols and shotguns. Upazila Chairman Manjurul Alam Rajeev, Chhatra League President Atiqur Rahman Atiq can be seen holding weapons.
