A Bangladesh Army lieutenant, Lt Tanjim Sarwar Nirjon, was killed during an early morning joint forces operation in Chakaria upazila, Cox's Bazar, according to police reports. Lt Tanjim, stationed at Ramu Cantonment in Cox's Bazar, was part of an operation targeting criminals, including those involved in illegal arms activities, as reported by our Cox's Bazar correspondent. Cox's Bazar Superintendent of Police (SP) Md Rahmat Ullah confirmed that Lt Tanjim was fatally attacked by robbers in Dulahazra union during the operation.
