On August 2, 2024, Abdul Hannan Masud, a coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement, announced in a video message that the protesters have rejected an invitation from the Awami League to meet and discuss calming the situation. Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina had instructed to sit with the protesters, but they declined, stating, 'Their hands are stained with our brothers' blood.' The protesters plan to hold demonstrations across the country and initiate a full-scale non-cooperation movement.
