Dr. Yunus Confirmed to Head the Interim Government

Nobel laureate Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has been confirmed to lead an interim government. The decision was finalized during a meeting between President Md. Shahabuddin, the chiefs of the three armed forces, and coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement. The President's Assistant Press Secretary, S M Rahat Hasnat, confirmed this late Tuesday night. A press release from the President's office indicated that the formation of the interim government and its framework were discussed in detail during the meeting with the heads of the armed forces and representatives from Dhaka University.
